US Attorney General to appear before Senate Committee

U.S. Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, has said in a letter that he will appear before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday to address matters brought up by former FBI Director, James Comey, in his testimony earlier this week to the same committee.

In a letter seen by the  Reuters news Agency, Mr Sessions told Senator, Richard Shelby, Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Sub committee on Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies, that the Intelligence Committee is the “most appropriate” place to address matters that came up during James Comey’s hearing last Thursday.

Mr Sessions had planned to appear before the Senate and House Appropriations Subcommittees, but the Deputy Attorney General will take his place, the letter said.
